Background
Sean VanZeeland - Instrument Technician
Sean began his musical career in elementary school, performing in the lobby of a theater in Milwaukee, WI. Over the years, his interest has shifted towards the instruments themselves and maintaining them for fellow musicians. He began learning to repair string instruments in 2020, and has since completed coursework through the University of New Hampshire's Violin Craftsmanship Institute.
He has studied piano tuning under mentors Gary Schlichting and Tom Draughon, and has been offering this professional service since 2022. He now maintains a clientele that reaches across Northern Wisconsin and into Michigan's Upper Peninsula. His services have expanded from tuning to regulation, action rebuilding, hammer replacement, climate control system installation, and more.
Sean lives in Ashland, WI, with his fiancé Bailey and dog Joni, and actively performs with bands Baba Fats and the Old 13 String Bandits.
